In an instant—Summer appears…

These days – for me anyway – its difficult to understand the world. But it’s not that difficult to understand Mademoiselle Universe. She’s a very consistent entity, and thank goodness for that! Like every aspect of the nature of the Universe, we grow a little, face challenges, grow a little more, face some more challenges, and grow a little more. Each season that passes offers us the opportunity to either rest, as in fall and winter, or to be more active, more social, more lively, as in spring and summer. 

At Isola, the seasons really feel like they begin and end with the Summer Solstice, a day that is so special to us that Marc and I even chose it as our wedding day five years ago – we weren’t even concerned that it was a Thursday!

This day marks a change of season, where we fall into the exact opposite of winter: bright instead of dark, long days instead of short days, bright green foliage and life in the garden, as opposed to sparkling frost on sleeping stems… and most importantly, we are in the Traditional Chinese Medicine season of the heart.
