We’re BLOOMING…

Have you seen the news? If you’re active on our social media, you would have seen that on February 21 – one month before the 2024 Spring Equinox – Isola Herbals as we had all grown to know went through a BIG and BEAUTIFUL change. We shed the last TEN YEARS of instagram posts, and we are blooming into the sturdy, strong blossom that the foundation of our brand has allowed us to be.

What does this mean? Well, for starters, a little clarity on Isola Herbals: My name is Em, and I started Isola Herbals as a way to share what I was learning on my path to becoming an Herbalist. I quickly found a niche passion for the little fountain of youth that can be found in natural, organic, and plant-based oils for use in skincare. But the oils weren’t enough – back in 2014 as an Herbalist-in-training, I knew that herbs have medicinal value, and that their oils, minerals and acids were a key to creating a range of timeless skincare products that really work to maintain beautiful, youthful skin, and to correct problems that can arise and show in the skin. The one ingredient that I always came back to in my Herbalist studies, and the ingredient that is paralleled in its importance for the human body in Traditional Chinese Medicine is sea kelp. So, I first harvested my own sea kelp from the Pacific Coast of Vancouver Island, but as my product sales grew, I began to work with a Pacific Coast local kelp-harvesting company called Canadian Kelp Harvesters, and they’ve supplied me with beautiful, sustainably-harvested kelp ever since!

So what the Isola Bloom… or Re-Bloom – perhaps a little more accurate – means, is that today, a decade later, I am a Clinical Herbalist, an Iridologist, and on my way to being a Master Herbalist with the accreditation as a Registered Herbalist with the American Herbalists Guild. What the Re-Bloom also means, is that Isola skincare products are better than ever as I’ve had ten years of testing and feedback to perfect the ingredients, and grow more of them myself (more about that later!) Isola skincare will be going through a blossoming stage as well very soon, and you’ll see them shining with new labels, more availability locally, and of course, our national and international availability through our website.

Which brings me to the Isola website: This will be getting a few more blossoms too, as my Clinical Herbalist and Iridology services are now not only available to humans, but to horses too! I’ve created a division called Isola Equine, and you’ll be able to visit the Isola Equine division online and on social media as a resource to book me to come and assess your beautiful horse, and to source safe herbs and natural products that I recommend for your equine best friend (or friends, if you’re like me and one horse isn’t enough!)

Last, I want to thank you all so much for sticking with Isola Herbals, some of you since day one, all those years ago! I am an independent small-business owner, a forever student also holding a full-time job, a wife, a step-mother, a daughter and primary care-giver to my father, a proud mum to two Arabian full-of-beans horses, a Jack Russell with a personality bigger than my town, a beautiful 21 year old siamese kitty, and a naughty black teenage “kitten”, plus I have five victorian-era perennial gardens and a dreamy little organic greenhouse…. So I want you to know that I get it. Life is untamed. The ups and downs and sharp corners that I’ve experienced in the last decade have been extreme. But I’m still here with you, and with Isola, and I cannot thank you enough for staying here with me.
